Castle Farms Wedding-Nathan and Breah

A Castle Farms Wedding, Charlevoix, Michigan.

Castle Farms began as a dairy farm way back in 1918, and was designed much like castles and stone barns in Normandy, France. At one time, it held 200 head of prize winning Holstein-Friesian and 13 pair of Belgian draft horses! Since then, it has been an art gallery, and a concert venue (where, by the way I saw my first concert-Air Supply, sometime back in the ’80’s).

Located in Northern Michigan, Castle Farms has become a premiere wedding venue for those who want an incredibly beautiful place to be married. The staff members have that truly friendly, up North vibe and are happy to help out in any way they can. The castle’s stunning architecture was beautifully and painstakingly restored by it’s owners. The attention to detail would make Chip and Joanna Gaines proud! It’s also pretty eco-friendly, as they use environmentally friendly cleaning products, and have installed LED lighting wherever possible. Bonus!

The happy couple shared their “I Do’s” in The Queen’s Courtyard, which was perfect for an outdoor wedding. The scene is straight from a fairy tale, made complete with a brick walkway, a beautiful fountain, and arched stone walls.  Breah’s cousin, Evan did an awesome job playing acoustic guitar and singing during the ceremony.

After the wedding, we headed to some of the garden areas on the grounds of Castle Farms for some family photos and bridal session. This place means business when it comes to their gardens, consequently it was hard to pick a favorite area. We were happy that we visited the grounds the day before to scout and find the perfect locations for light. We decided on an area with a beautiful pond, as well as the Enchanted Forest. (We later stole the newlyweds out to the front of the building, which was quite magnificent due to a grandiose fountain, elegant statues, flowering trees, and a grand view of the entire place.)

The dinner and reception were held in The Great Hall, which was lined with huge windows and boasted original stone walls and chandeliers that looked like royalty. The dinner was delicious, and the setting made us feel so fancy! Evan came through again with some great live music for the first dances, and then went into full party mode as DJ and MC. That dance floor was packed all night. I’m not sure who danced more, the crazy Aunts or the fraternity brothers? Or was it the Mother’s?

I cannot say enough about the people in Nathan and Breah’s circle. We have worked with Breah’s family before, and knew we were going to be right at home with them. Nathan’s family was just as wonderful, treating us as though we were family as well. The wedding party was an absolute blast to work with (and dance with)!

Nathan and Breah, as well as their friends and families partied like Kings and danced like Rock Stars!

We are wishing them the happiest of happily ever afters!
