What To Wear For Senior Pictures
Choosing what to wear for your senior pictures can be a daunting task. You want to look your best, but when you go to your closet, you might just find yourself standing there thinking “I have nothing to wear.” Here’s the good news: you do have something to wear, and I’m going to help you find your thinking cap.
These tips will guide you through some choices to be sure you look your best.
Flaunt your style and personality. You want your senior pictures to be the best reflection of who you are today. The more comfortable you are with what you have on, the more confident you are. Confidence is very photogenic!
When choosing what to wear, think about variety. Something more casual, something dressier. Change it up. Change the vibe. I recommend two outfits for a one hour session. You can definitely get through three or four outfits with a two hour session.
Consider the location. Make sure your choices flow with where your session is. A body con dress is a better choice for a downtown setting than for a forest setting.
Be sure your choices fit you well. You will be doing a LOT of moving around, whether than static, still poses. We run, we jump, we dance. If you have to keep stopping to pull down, prop up, or adjust your clothes, that’s just no fun. Test your outfits out in a mirror. If your dress shows too much when sitting or bending down, choose another.

Proper undergarments are a must. The right bra, the right underwear, and shapewear, if that makes you feel more confident in tighter clothing.
Lots of people ask what color should I wear. Choose colors that look good with your skin tone. I will add that any color a highlighter has ever been made with is not a great choice.
Jeans. Always in style, and easy to move in. You can dress them up or down.
What’s the weather? Be sure to dress for the season. Think sweaters for fall, sundresses for spring and summer. If it’s chilly out, bring along a warm coat to keep you warm in between sets.

Glasses with glare can be challenging to work with. Especially if additional lighting is needed. If you wear glasses every day and feel your best with them on, by all means wear them. Just be prepared to adjust your posing a bit more.
Accessories are a way to style your outfit unique to you. Jewelry, scarves, hats, dogs, bikes, your tuba to name a few.
A little black dress is always chic.
Give yourself a mani with a natural look. Your hands will show sometimes. Same goes with your toes if we’re shooting at the beach.
Shoes. Make sure your shoes are fitting for the location. Anything with a heel looks out of place at the beach, and in meadows or gardens. They’re great for a more urban look, though. Be sure you can walk and move around in them, remember we move around a lot. Sometimes we even go with bare feet around here.
A white dress with a romantic feel has always been a popular choice for senior pictures. One of my favorite choices.
Please be sure that your clothes are wrinkle free and organized with your shoes and accessories. Shoving it all in a duffel bag is not a good idea.
What NOT to wear. Branded clothing. Any color a highlighter has been made out of. Glitter makeup. Shoes you can’t walk in. Wrinkled clothes.
No matter what you decide to wear for your senior pictures, confidence looks best.
